At any destination wedding, the theme, décor and larger-than-life presentation turn attendees into Alice and transport them into wonderland. And the Ambanis will be taking 'wonderland' to another level for the upcoming pre-wedding functions. Isha Ambani, the only daughter of Nita and Mukesh Ambani, is set to marry Anand Piramal, scion of the Piramal family.
Bollywood couturier Manish Malhotra has been roped in to dress up the staff at the Oberoi Udaivilas and the City Palace on December 8 and 9 for the pre-wedding festivities.
Sources say that students from the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) in Aurangabad, would be serving the guests in Udaipur and they will be dressed by Malhotra, a close friend of the Ambanis. "They are in the process of short-listing about 200 students who will be further groomed to offer the best hospitality to the high-profile guests," an insider said. The attendees are expected to come from both Indian and international worlds of films, business, politics and aristocracy.

Meanwhile, most coveted hotels in the City of Lakes have been booked for the high octane celebrations that take place over the weekend. The festivities kick off with a mega show on December 7. "A troupe from Israel is expected to perform at the ceremony alongside Bollywood celebrities," a source said. An after-party is planned at the Hotel Radisson Blu, with a performance by an international pop icon.
