Woman worker killed in accident at Rourkela Steel Plant

The deceased, identified as Gurubari Patra (40), working as a contractual worker under a private construction firm, was hit by the truck while she was on her way to the work site.

A woman worker was killed today after being hit by a truck inside the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) premises today, police said.

The deceased, identified as Gurubari Patra (40), working as a contractual worker under a private construction firm, was hit by the truck while she was on her way to the work site riding a bicycle, they said.

Her body has been sent for post-mortem, sources said adding that workers are demanding compensation for her family.
