The City Civil and Sessions Court, Palanpur on Thursday ordered to hand over custody of the muddamal, seized by the state CID during the investigation of Tulsi Prajapati fake encounter case, to CBI.

The CBI had, late in May, moved the application seeking custody of the articles seized by the state CID while investigating the Tulsi Prajapati encounter case. As a matter of procedure, when the case was committed to the sessions court for trial, the CID had submitted all the articles in the court.

The application was scheduled for further hearing for Thursday. During the argument the public prosecutor of the court Tarun Joshi, gave no objection to hand over the articles and said that there is no problem to hand over the muddamal to CBI. Apart from the application for muddamal, the special public prosecutor Ezaz Khan had also prayed to stay the proceedings in the case. Khan argued that the as the apex court has ordered to transfer the investigation of the case to CBI, the present court till the investigation is in progress, the proceedings should be stayed. The court has scheduled the hearing on this application for June 23.
