Traffic disrupted in Marina following protest

Traffic was disrupted in the service lane of the Marina beach for sometime today as some youngsters staged a protest against police asking them to stop playing cricket.
   
Police said the youths played cricket in the service lane where vehicles were parked but as visitors objected to it, they asked them to stop playing. Following this, they  staged a protest, the sources said.
   
Police said being a Sunday, there were a lot of youngsters playing in the service lane, disrupting traffic.
   
The sources said to avoid such problems; they were considering a move to allow youngsters to play in the nearby Island grounds rather than on the service lane.
   
Since the Marina is under a beautification programme, the environs should not get spoilt, the sources added.
