Describing the Terms of Reference (ToR) of the Sri Krishna Committee announced by the Centre today as 'cheating' the people of the Telangana, the all-party Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) said it will announce its future course of action tomorrow and consider the issue of submitting fresh resignations.

"The ToR are nothing but a betrayal of the people of Telangana. We will intensify our agitation. We appeal to the people to make tomorrow's bandh called by the students a success," JAC Convener C Kodandaram told reporters after a meeting with Telugu Desam leaders.

Asked if TRS and the ruling Congress were still part of JAC, he replied in the affirmative. "Congress leaders said they are part of the JAC. We are confident that they will attend tomorrow's meeting," he said.

State Congress president D Srinivas welcomed the ToR, while TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao announced his party's decision to give up the posts held by his party's public representatives.

The MLAs from Telangana from different parties sent their resignations en masse to the assembly speaker in support of Telangana demand but the speaker rejected all but one of them on the ground that they are not in proper format.

The Centre today announced the terms of reference for the Telangana committee, saying the panel will examine both the demands for a separate state of Telangana as well as a united Andhra Pradesh.
