Sharad Pawar, Praful Patel meet Sonia Gandhi

NCP chief and Union Minister Sharad Pawar today had a meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi at her residence 10 Janpath.

When contacted, Pawar said it was a "courtesy call". Pawar was accompanied by his party leader and Union Minister Praful Patel at the 20-minute long meeting.     "It was a courtsey call as we had not met Gandhi, who is also chairperson, for several months," Pawar told PTI.

This is first meeting Pawar had with Gandhi after she returned from US where she had undergone an operation a few months ago.

Pawar's meeting with Gandhi has come at a time when local bodies' election in Maharashtra are scheduled soon. Congress and NCP share power in the state as also at the Centre.
