Opposition RJD made a fresh demand today for resignation of chief minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi owning moral responsibility for misusing funds meant for development of the state.

Quoting the CAG report that had implicated the state government, RJD national general secretary Ram Kirpal Yadav and party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed Khann told reporters here that the NDA government should resign after the revelation that Rs11,412 crore had been illegally withdrawn from different treasuries between April 1, 2002 and March 31, 2008.

The two RJD leaders alleged that officials were being forced by the NDA government to submit fake DC bills to the CAG under duress and demanded filing of criminal cases against CM and deputy CM as well as officials who were submitting fake bills to the CAG.
