Claiming that people's woes were on the rise in Jammu and Kashmir due to the "wrong" policies of Abdullah government, opposition PDP today said its performance was being compared to the previous Congress-PDP rule which did not augur well for the parties in power.

"We are happy that the people of the state have started comparing performance of the present dispensation with the previous Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led coalition regime because woes of the common masses have been mounting due to wrong policies being adopted by Omar Abdullah government," PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said addressing a public meeting in Marh Assembly segment here.

Noting that these comparisons will tilt the scales in favour of the PDP, she said the previous government headed by Sayeed not only carved out a path of equitable development but also empowered all regions and sub-regions of the state.

"Decision making powers were decentralised to the grass roots level to inculcate a sense of belonging among all sections of the society", she said and alleged that NC-led alliance had failed to carry forward that policy.

Instead of giving equal treatment to all regions, this government has been adopting discriminatory attitude towards certain areas, she alleged and told the gathering that some pockets were deliberately ignored by the ruling coalition.
