One naxal killed in encounter in Karnataka

A naxal was killed and two others, including a policeman, were injured today in an encounter between a group of Maoists and security forces in the district, police said.
    
Police launched combing operations in the area following a tip-off about the movement of a naxal group.
    
When naxals opened fire at Padigaru in Karakala taluk, the police retaliated and in the exchange of fire one naxal was killed, police said, adding the injured naxalite has been taken into custody.
    
Both the injured have been admitted to hospital, police said.
    
Police are continuing their combing operations.
