One person was killed and four injured in a clash over land dispute in the district, police said today.
Guns and other weapons were used in the violence that broke out yesterday between two groups of the Sikh community in Jalalpur Quazi village, they said.
Several persons from both sides were taken into police custody, rifle, gun and several other weapons were seized.
The clash followed when three kins of Vikram Singh who was engaged in a feud with Gurnam Singh over a piece of land, were ploughing the disputed land and about 12 persons from the other side reached there and firing took place between the two groups, they said.
Two kins of Vikram, were wounded, while another died. Two persons from Gurnam Singh's side were also injured in the clash.
