Nine killed in road mishap in Madhya Pradesh

Nine persons, including two women, were killed and four injured in a jeep-truck collision, close to Budhnighat near here today, police said.
 
The jeep carrying the victims was on its way to Hoshangabad from Bhopal when it collided head-on with the sand -laden truck, Obdullahganj police station In-charge Inspector RVS Kushwaha told PTI.
 
Nine persons died on the spot, police said adding four injured have been rushed to Bhopal for treatment.
 
According to initial investigation, the deceased were hailing from Bhopal and Hoshangabad, police said adding efforts were on to identify them.
 
After the incident, the truck driver fled from the spot, police said adding a hunt has been launched to arrest him.
 
A case has been registered and further investigations were on, police said.
