Narendra Modi asks people of Gujarat to pledge for betterment of poor

Greeting the people of the state on the occasion of Gujarati New Year Samvat 2067, the chief minister said, 'May this new year bring prosperity and peace to all.'

Gujarat's Chief Minister Narendra Modi today asked people to devote themselves for betterment of the underprivileged and the less fortunate at a time when the State is celebrating 50th year of its foundation.
 
Greeting the people of the state on the occasion of Gujarati New Year Samvat 2067, he said, "May this new year bring prosperity and peace to all."
 
"This year is special as we are celebrating the Golden Jubilee of Gujarat's foundation. This year we need to pledge for betterment of our families, the state and those who are underprivileged," Modi said after offering prayer at the Bhadrakali Temple in Laldarwaja area here.
 
The chief minister also met governor Kamla and greeted her on the occasion of Gujarati New Year.
 
Modi interacted with people from different walks of life at the community hall in the ministers' enclave in Gandhinagar.
