Heavily-armed ultras had on Friday night kidnapped Uday Prasad, the Dumaria Block JD(U) president, and his colleague Amrendra Prasad from Bijua Barwadih village, during campaigning.
Maoists, who abducted two JD(U) workers and later freed one of them yesterday, killed the hostage in Bihar's Gaya district early today, officials said.

The ultras had yesterday freed Prasad, they said.
They killed Amrendra Prasad and threw his body on a school campus, about 7km from Dumaria police station, from where it was recovered early today, officials said.
A combing operation has been launched against the ultras.
