Man found murdered in LD college hostel in Ahmedabad; 5 under scanner

In a shocking incident at the LD College of Engineering hostel, a person was found murdered at around 6 pm on Saturday. The body was found lying in the corridor in a pool of blood and bore injury marks all over. The man was later on identified to be Manish Shah (30), a resident of Prahladnagar in the city.

Primary police investigation revealed that six friends had met for a drinking  session, and after a quarrel one of them was killed. Deputy commissioner of police, zone 1, Brajesh Jha told DNA that Shah could have been killed after a quarrel among the friends on some trivial issue.

Jha further said that the police had starting questioning one Kaneef, in whose name the room had been allotted. “Kaneef eventually gave the names of four other people who were present in room number 236 during the time of the  incident,” police inspector, Gujarat University police station, NR Chauhan, told DNA.

Police sources further said that Shah was killed in the room and later on his body was dragged from the room to the corridor. The police also found that these friends met almost daily in this room to booze.

Based on the statement of Kaneef, police suspect the hand of four people - Lalu Dhobi, Gadhvi, Tulsi and Kintan Patel - in the murder.
