JCO killed, two jawans injured in Poonch

A junior commissioned officer (JCO) was killed and two other jawans were injured when a rocket fired from across the Line of Control (LoC) exploded near a forward post in Sawjian sector in Poonch district today, defence sources said here.
    
The rocket fired from Cobra Post of Pakistan hit near Mukhyari post in Sawjian sector around 7 am hours killing a JCO and injuring two jawans, they said.
    
The jawans were being evacuated by helicopter to command hospital at Udhampur for treatment, the sources said.
    
In another incident, a jawan of 7 JAK rifles, identified as Gurnam Singh Rathore, was critically injured when a mine exploded at Tarkundi in Balakote area of this border district in the wee hours today.
    
The explosion occurred when the patrolling party was returning to its post, they said, adding he has been shifted to district hospital at Rajouri for treatment.
