J&K govt to appoint 300 contractual Patwaris soon: Revenue minister

Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to make 300 contractual appointments to fill various vacancies of Patwaris (revenue officials) across the state.

Minister for revenue Raman Bhalla said this in reply to supplementaries on the question by Sajjad Kitchloo during question hour here today.

The minister said considering the urgency for meeting manpower requirements, the government has decided to press for the appointments to be made soon and use the services of these trained persons till the regular recruitment was made.

He said the involvement of the private sector in training the personnel in revenue record handling would also be explored.

Sharing the concern of the members about vacancies of revenue officials, particularly in rural areas, the minister said the recruiting agencies would be asked to expedite and complete the process of recruitment at the earliest.

Replying to the main question, the minister gave details about the steps taken for completing settlement operations in the state.

He also furnished the details about the sanctioned posts of Patwaris, Girdawars and Naib-Tehsildars in district Kishtwar.

Legislators- Mir Saifullah, Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Radhey Sham Sharma and Harshdev Singh asked supplementaries on the main question.

Replying to another question by Mir Zahoor, the minister said the government has constituted a committee to draw an action plan for utilisation of amount received on account of compensation for the land acquired by CRPF at village Lathipora.

He said the money received would be spent for developing basic infrastructure in the village.
    
The government has decided to train volunteers to extend veterinary facilities to uncovered-covered areas of the state, the minister for animal and sheep husbandry, Aga Sayed Ruhulla, said in reply to a question by Mohammad Sharief Niaz.
    
Replying to the main question, the minister gave resume of the norms set for regularisation of trail veterinary centres and also gave details about the facilities available in Bhaderwah constituency.
