"I am no global guru of any sort," economist Prime Minister Manmohan Singh responded on why the number of bilateral meetings he had here were limited. Singh, who is among the sought after leaders at such forums, held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the G20 Summit with his British and the Australian counterparts.

He was asked at a press conference at the end of the two-day Summit on why he could not have more bilateral
meetings since many world leaders valued his views on the global economic crisis.

US President Barack Obama had described Singh "one of the most extraordinary leaders" he had met and said he greatly valued the Indian leader's "friendship, wisdom and decency".

Singh, who shook hands with Chinese President Hu Jintao during the Summit, said "I have good relations with President Hu and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao."

Warmly responding, the Chinese President told him how similar is "our thinking in dealing with world economic issues".

Singh said he also had a good chat with German Chancellor Angela merkel who invited him to visit Germany and said she would be happy to come to India.
