So what if it’s only a moniker of a shop? But ‘Hitler’ still managed to raise the hackles, even hundreds of thousands of kilometres away from Isreal, and decades after the Nazi leader passed away.

A group called the Friends of Israel has protested a city-based businessman’s effort at getting more business through the use of the name ‘Hitler’ in his men’s garment shop.

“Hitler killed 6.5 million Jews. Will anyone be allowed to name a shop as Godse? We confronted the businessman on how he could name his shop after a monster and that it will hurt the sentiments of the Jews. However, he is adamant,” lamented Nikitin Contractor, general secretary of Friends of Israel. He further said they have already written a mail to the Israeli Consulate. “We will resort to Gandhigiri and if that doesn’t work we will also file a case against him as there is a provision of not hurting people’s religious sentiments,” said Contractor.
