Congress responsible for 'chaotic situation' in Andhra, says BJP

Expressing its full support for a separate Telangana state, the BJP today blamed the Congress for the "present chaotic situation" in Andhra Pradesh.

"The Congress did not even consider it proper to take their own chief minister and other legislators into confidence," BJP president Rajnath Singh said, adding that the Congress is responsible for the present chaotic situation in the state.

Asked whether his party favoured Hyderabad as the capital city of both Andhra Pradesh and proposed Telangana on the Chandigarh model or be declared a union territory, Singh said, "I would not like to say anything on that, but Telangana should get the statehood status."
