After the report was submitted, home minister P Chidambaram said he has convened a meeting of eight recognised political parties from the state to discuss the contents of the report on January 6.

As Justice Srikrishna committee today submitted its report on the separate Telangana state demand to the Centre, Congress today hoped that government will take an "appropriate" decision after taking political parties into confidence.
"Congress is not against smaller states including Telangana. The Srikrishna committee has submitted its report. We hope government will take political parties into confidence and take an appropriate action," party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.
After the report was submitted, home minister P Chidambaram said he has convened a meeting of eight recognised political parties from the state to discuss the contents of the report on January 6.
He also said the report will released to the public after the meeting.
