Normal life was disrupted in Orissa's Mayurbhanj district today due to bandh called by JMM to protest killing of three security men including two body guards of their leader Sudam Marandi.

Shops and business establishments remained closed while train services and vehicular traffic on roads including the National Highway No.5 came to a grinding halt.

Baripada-Bhubaneswar superfast train was terminated barely one kilometre from the railway station here as JMM activists blocked the track, while Rupsa-Baripada DMU train was cancelled, railway sources said. Schools and educational institutions also remained closed.

Maoists had gunned down three securitymen, including two personal security officers of Marandi, a former MP, during a football match at Bandap village in Mayurbhanj district last evening. The victims had been identified as assistant sub-inspector of Chandua police station Narayan Pradhan, Marandi's PSOs - Gama Hembram and Rajendra Mahanto.

Earlier, police had mistaken the second PSO Mahanto as a village guard identified as Gobinda Tudu. Search was on to trace Tudu who was missing after the attack.
