Fake currency notes of Rs1,000 and Rs500 denomination with a face value of Rs70,000 were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons.

The Jammu and Kashmir police today arrested three persons with fake currency notes in Budgam district, official sources said.
Mohammad Maqbool Wagay of Kani-Daji, Mohammad Shaban Khan of Kewa and Zahoor Ahmad Kumar of Lamad were arrested on a tip-off by a police party from Charar-e-Sharief, 29 kilometres from here, sources said.
They said fake currency notes of Rs1,000 and Rs500 denomination with a face value of Rs70,000 were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons.
A case has been registered in this regard against the arrested persons, the sources said adding that this is the second such arrest in the valley over the past nine days.
On September 9, police arrested four persons with fake currency with a face value of Rs54,000 from Humhama area of Budgam.
