10 students injured as school bus hits tree in Bhopal

Ten students were injured today when the school bus carrying them hit a road side tree at Eintkhedi area near Bhopal, police said.

The students of D C Convent School, Lambakheda were on way to the school when the mishap occurred, Gunga police station house officer (SHO) Alok Shrivastava said.

Ten students suffered minor injuries in the incident, he said.

According to initial reports, the mishap may have occurred due to failure of brakes or after a tyre got punctured, Shrivastava said adding that the bus was not being driven at a high speed when it hit the tree.

A case has been registered and the bus has been impounded, police said.
