The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) marketing manager, Mohammad Sirajuddin, arrested from Jaipur on the alleged charges of " working for the ISIS" had almost convinced three Maharashtra youth to joint the terror outfit in Syria.

"The good part is that the Maharashtrian youths had not turned hardcore and are now being de-radicalised through some serious counseling," said sources.

Incidentally, Sirajuddin came under the radar of central agencies when he got in touch with a young woman from Hyderabad in Telangana some six months ago. The woman, in her early 20s, whose identity is being kept under wraps, was under constant watch of the agencies.

Sources said she was operating closed group on the Facebook and was still in the process of getting radicalised. The agencies with help of local police intervened to wean her away from the dangerous path and she currently is undergoing counseling, sources said.

The agencies usually take the help of learned Maulvis who know Islam, parents, relatives and psychologists to de-radicalise such cases.

According to agency officials who continuously tracked Sirajuddin for 6 months, the IOC manager is highly radicalised and though not a formal member of the ISIS was on a recruitment spree for the terror outfit.

"He was in the process of recruiting some 25 fighters for the ISIS, including 15-20 from foreign countries. He was targeting 3 to four boys in Maharashtra," said sources.

For this purpose he had created several groups on Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram and other social media platforms.

Thirty-year-old Sirajuddin, hailing from M B Nagar in Gulbarga, Karnataka, was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
