Kuch Toh Log Kahenge is on its way out. The serial according to sources will be taken off air by the end of this month. Adapted from the Pakistani soap Dhoop Kinare, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge had created a lot of hype for its story and casting.

Mohnish Behl played a doctor who falls in love with a girl half his age, essayed by Kritika Kamra. However, mid-way through the serial Mohnish opted out and Sharad Kelkar took over. Initially aired at 8 pm on Sony, it failed to garner good ratings and was later shifted to the late night 11 pm slot where it did better.

Producer Rajan Shahi confirms, “Yes, we are winding up the serial on March 28 but not because of any problems. The channel would have liked the show to continue for another seven-eight months, but Kritika wants to take a break and I was clear that I cannot replace her as Dr Nidhi. We did try convincing her to stay on but she has her own reasons. I respect her decision. We had a meeting with the channel and decided to end it on a positive note.”

The show, says Rajan, may not have been high on the charts like his other shows Bidaai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai but it has given him a lot of critical acclaim and he is happy with the way it panned out.
