CBSE UGC NET November 2017: Students can start registering on cbsenet.nic.in; Aadhaar required

Students who wish to appear for the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) to be held on November 5 can log on to the official Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) website - cbsenet.nic.in to begin the application process.

Students who wish to appear for the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) to be held on November 5 can log on to the official Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) website - cbsenet.nic.in to begin the application process. 

The NET exam is conducted by CBSE on behalf of the UGC twice every year. The scores obtained in the NET exam are required for positions like Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges. CBSE will conduct NET in 84 subjects at 91 selected NET Examination Cities spread across the country.

The last date for applying online is 11 September, 2017 and the fee can be paid up to 12 September, 2017.

This year, CBSE has also decided to use Aadhaar authentication​ for the application process, except for students in J&K, Assam & Meghalaya who can still use passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid govt identity number. 

Here's how to apply for the UGC NET 2017 examination

1. Log on to http://cbsenet.nic.in

2. Then click on 'Fill Application Form' for UGC NET November 2017

3. Fill in the registration form

4. Upload a scanned photo and signature

5. Pay exam fees

6. After this, you will get a confirmation of the registration. Take a print out for reference.
