BSF jawan's widow raped in Delhi

A BSF jawan's widow was allegedly raped by a veterinary doctor who lived as a tenant in her house in Mehrauli area of south Delhi. A case has been registered against the accused and police are conducting interrogation.

The incident came to light yesterday when the victim filed a police complaint against the doctor, who lived as a tenant on the ground floor of her house.

"The victim in her complaint said that she was alone at her home on Tuesday when the accused forcibly entered her room and allegedly raped her.

"He also threatened the victim of dire consequences if she reported the matter to police," said the police officer investigating the case. The accused had rented the ground floor of the house around a year ago. At the time of the agreement, both the parties agreed to a bond of 11 months. When asked to vacate the house on his completing the 11 month period, the accused denied to do so, the officer said.

The victim's husband was BSF jawan who died few years ago while on duty. On account of her husband's death, the government had given her compensation, investing which she bought a house in Mehrauli.
