Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa’s 70th birthday on Monday is showing signs of going down as the most hectic of birthdays as the course of his political future is likely to be unveiled.

Politics apart, special pujas have been arranged in temples, including Iskcon’s Radha Krishna temple, Bull temple at Basavanagudi, Gali Anjaneya temple and Ragigudda Anjaneya temple, across the state. His supporters have arranged pujas and homas in 1,008 temples to ensure a suitable post befitting his stature in the party.

Yeddyurappa and his family members will head to Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur to seek the blessings of Sri Shivakumara Swamiji and then offer special puja at the Radhakrishna temple at Sanjaynagar.

The much awaited political moves will start at 11 am as he heads back to Bangalore to attend the BJP backward communities’ convention.

Interestingly, chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda and BJP state president KS Eshwarappa do not figure as invitees for the programme.

Yeddyurappa has invited BJP legislators and MPs for a meeting later in the evening to discuss political developments.
He is likely to assess the mood of his supporters to decide his future course of action. He will also host a dinner for them after an interaction with the media.

Gowda, who was on a tour of Gulbarga on Sunday, conveyed his greetings for the former chief minister and wished him success.
“Yeddyurappa deserves a suitable post befitting his stature and the party national leaders will resolve all differences at the March 3 meeting convened by BJP national president Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi,” Gowda said.
