4,000 more engineering seats this year in Karnataka

Engineering aspirants have a reason to smile. For this year, almost all the eligible students will get seats as 80,000 seats are available in the state. Under government quote, 40,000 seats are likely to be allotted for eligible students.

Engineering aspirants have a reason to smile. For this year, almost all the eligible students will get seats as 80,000 seats are available in the state. Under government quote, 40,000 seats are likely to be allotted for eligible students.

Compared to the previous year, this year 4,000 more engineering seats are available.Announcing this on Monday, minister for higher education VS Acharya said, “We have already released the seat matrix for engineering counselling which begins on July 7.

This year, AICTE has given approval for admission to six additional colleges. This time, around 80,000 seats are available in which government will get 40,000 seats, including supernumerary quota.”

Acharya further said that he would write to Union human resources minister Kapil Sibal to ensure that AICTE finalises its seat matrix before March 31 from next academic year to end uncertainty and confusion.
