Seychelles president Danny Faure will begin his six-day India visit from Ahmedabad on Friday, official sources said. He will be the fourth head of a country to visit Ahmedabad in the last nine months.

According to officials, Faure is slated to land in Ahmedabad on Friday evening. However, his public engagements are slated only for the next day.

They said that the Seychelles president is slated to visit the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, at 9:00 am on Saturday, where he will interact with faculty members and students. He will be the third head of state to visit the premier institute in the last three years.

President of the archipelago will then take a tour of Gandhi Ashram where he will visit Hriday Kunj and the archive and gallery section. He will be gifted a copy of Mahatma Gandhi's autobiography and a Charkha by the ashram.

Faure will then proceed to the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar. Officials said the president will meet police and intelligence officers from his country who are undergoing training at the University.

He will then head to Raj Bhavan, where he will meet the Governor, before departing for Goa. From Goa, he is slated to travel to New Delhi where he will meet President and Vice president, and also hold bilateral talks with PM Narendra Modi.

Faure is the fourth head of state to visit Ahmedabad in the past nine months. Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe had visited the city in September, followed by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in January, and Canada's prime minister Justin Trudeau in February.
