Speculations are rife that Sapna Choudhary is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of Lok Sabha 2019 polls
Two days after Ex Bigg Boss contestant and Haryanvi folk singer-dancer Sapna Choudhary denied the reports of her joining the Congress party, new photos of her surfaced online on Monday, March 25 showing her with Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari. Their 'courtesty meeting' fanned speculations that Sapna might be joining the BJP soon.
According to rumours doing the rounds on Saturday, the Congress was planning to field Sapna Choudhary against actor-turned-politician Hema Malini in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura in the 2019 elections. While Congress still maintains that she filled the membership form, Sapna says she has no plans of campaigning for any party in the Lok Sabha polls.
"I have not joined the Congress party. I have not joined any political party. I am not going to campaign for any political party. I am an artist," Sapna Choudhary said in a press conference.

On March 23, UP Congress chief Raj Babbar tweeted a picture of Sapna Choudhary with Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, welcoming the performer to the ‘Congress family’.
Sapna later said that her picture with Priyanka is old. “If old interviews can be dug up, old photographs can also resurface,” Choudhary said.
The man in the photo -- Dev Kumar Deva, a singer and also Sapna's friend, later told India Today that the picture was taken on March 14 when he and Sapna met Priyanka at Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia's office in Delhi. Dev said Congress in the meeting offered Sapna a ticket from Mathura to which she replied that "she will think about it".
2. Sapna took a U-turn and categorically denied the reports of her joining the Congress

Sapna on Sunday clearly denied the reports of her joining the Congress. After Sapna's denial, Congress UP secretary Narendra Rathi came up with evidence, showing the membership form of Congress allegedly signed by Sapna and her sister.
Amid the confusion, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya claimed that the Congress' membership form signed by Sapna has been forged.
During the press conference when Sapna was asked about the photo where she is seen holding a Congress slip, she said she's is not literate enough to understand what was written on the slip. "Did you see my name on the slip? No. So you can't point out me," she added. Interestingly, news agency ANI tweeted a copy of the slip clearly showing Sapna's name mentioned on it.
Reacting to the controversy that Sapna signed the membership form, Sapna's friend Dev Kumar Deva explained, "I think Sapna was not aware that she is signing the membership form. Sapna told me that she had only submitted her bio-data."

On Monday, photos of Sapna with Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari surfaced on the Internet, giving rise to speculation that she might join the saffron brigade. Manoj Tiwari, who met Sapna at his residence in New Delhi, described it as a ‘courtesy meeting’ and refused to divulge much details.
Interestingly, Choudhary was seen wearing the same pink dress in the photo that she wore to the press conference on Sunday evening, where she denied having joined the Congress party.

Sapna Choudhary is a huge name in Haryana and enjoys a great fan following in the NCR region, especially the outer parts of Delhi. Both BJP and Congress are aware that Sapna could act as a great crowd puller if she agrees to campaign for them in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The parties are basically keen on cashing in on the Jat population in Delhi South and West constituencies.

Sapna made her Bollywood debut with an item number — 'Hatt Ja Tau' in the movie 'Veerey ki Wedding' last year.
