Citi has appointed Rajiv Nayar as the head of Capital Markets Origination in India, which deals with debt and equity transactions for the firm's clients in the country.
Nayar, currently the head of Citi's Capital Management Group for Asia Pacific, will report to Ken Poon, head of Asia Pacific Capital Market Origination and Ravi Kapoor, head of Global Banking India, a press release said.
Citi is a leading underwriter of debt and equity transactions in India and over the last 12 months has raised close to $20 billion for Indian clients from debt and equity markets, the release said.
Until recently, Rajiv was a managing director in the Leveraged and Acquisition Finance Team within Citi’s Asia Pacific Capital Markets Origination Group in Hong Kong, it said.
Over the last 25 years, Nayar has worked with different divisions in Citi, including Corporate Banking, Corporate and Project Finance and Portfolio Management in India, London and Hong Kong.
