Heavy rains in Bhutan have pounded several parts of Baksa’s Tamulpur in Assam, where rise in water levels of Pagladia and Borolia rivers led to the washing away of a bridge which connected Tamulpur to Baksa District Headquarters. The situation has prompted the local villagers to either take up swimming or use bamboo or banana rafts to cross the water. Several villages on the banks of Pagladia and Borolia rivers are reeling under water. Heavy torrential rains in Bhutan have led to flooding in Pagladia and Borolia rivers.
