Ganga River swells in Kanpur after barrage releases water

Low-lying areas of Kanpur were affected after barrage released fourteen thousand cusec water in River Ganga. “First time in 50 years, I have seen this much level of water in the month of ‘Jyeshtha’, water level has increased almost 10 ft. in the river, a minor loss of property has also happened,” a local told ANI. Water level of Ganga River is already above danger mark in several areas of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, administration has also issued warning for the same.
