Centre has launched a sustained awareness campaign on social media to battle misconceptions regarding COVID-19 and stigma associated with it.
Amid reports of stigmatisation of COVID-19 patients, the Centre has launched a sustained awareness campaign on social media to battle misconceptions.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has also dedicated a corner on “Inspirational series on healthcare workers” on the official webpage. The campaign has been going on for a month. The ministry will keep up the initiative to counter any misconception that creates a social stigma of coronavirus patients.
This comes amid reports of attacks on health workers over accusation that they are carriers of coronavirus. Incidents of attacks on last rites of COVID-19 patients, including doctors have also been reported from various parts of the country.
