National Security Guard (NSG) commandos will soon be based at Punjab's Pathankot, close to the International Border with Pakistan.

The new NSG hub is being set up to ensure faster deployment in case of a terror strike in the region which houses many important defence assets including a major Indian Air Force (IAF) base.

According to Home Ministry sources, Pakistani agencies are desperate to vitiate the atmosphere in India after their failure to send in terrorists and arms through the Line of Control and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir have failed.
