Actor Ramarajan injured in road mishap

Noted Tamil film actor and former AIADMK MP Ramarajan was injured and his car driver killed when the vehicle crashed into a road median near here today.

The car dashed against road median on the four-lane highway after the driver lost control at Nallamanaickenpatti, about 35km from Madurai, in the wee hours, police said.

The driver was killed on the spot while Ramarajan and another occupant of the car were injured. Both have been admitted to the Appolo Hospital in Madurai.

Ramarajan, a former Lok Sabha member from Tiruchendur, suffered a fracture and head injuries in the mishap, police said.

He was proceeding to Tiruchendur after attending a party public meeting in Dindigul when the accident occurred.
