India take on New Zealand in the fourth ODI at Hamilton on Thursday. Having won the series 3-0 already, the final two matches are a mere formality and the visitors will be without their skipper Virat Kohli, who has been given the much-deserved rest.

India vs New Zealand, 4th ODI: Live scorecard and full commentary

IN his absence, Rohit Sharma will take the charge.

Rohit will be eager to make his 200th appearance for India a memorable one with a solid performance against a below-par New Zealand on Thursday. Rohit has a good record as stand-in captain and has three double hundreds in ODIs to his credit, would aim to tighten the noose around New Zealand in what could be another batting friendly track at Seddon Park.

A 4-0 lead will be India's biggest series win (across formats) in their 52 years of touring New Zealand having first visited the country back in 1967.

For India, the two remaining matches give the side an ideal platform to once again test the bench strength and give the younger men a feel of match situations.

In the 6th over, Boult traps Dhawan on the fifth delivery. A loud shout for LBW and the umpires raises his finger. Dhawan has a small chat with Rohit but then decides not to ask for a DRS and walks away. The replays show it was hitting his leg stump. Good call from Dhawan.

Debutnat Gill joins Rohit, who is playing his 200th ODI.

India are 21 for 1, Overs - 6

Boult bags two wickets in two consecutive overs and what a start from the Kiwis!

On the final ball of the eighth over, Rohit gives a sharp return catch to Boult, who makes no mistake. Boult bowls one full, swinging into the batsman, Rohit trying to drive ends up giving a return catch. Rohit's innings in his 200th ODI comes to an early end here.

India are 23 for 2, Overs - 8

The bowling change from Kane Williamson works like a wonder. He introduces Colin de Grandhomme in the 11th over and he picks two wickets in his very first over of the day. India have two batsmen - Rayudu and Karthik - go for a duck.

CdK was clever with the ball to Rayudu, he sets up the Indian tempting him for the drive and Rayudu obliges it; goes for the drive and ends up driving it up towards the fielder at extra-cover. Martin Guptill usually does not leave such catches. India lose their third wicket.

Two balls later, Dinesh Karthik is caught behind.

India are 3 for 4, Overs 11

6. India in tartters here: lose 6 early wickets

What a match this is turning out to be for Boult and New Zealand. Clearly, the dead rubber's over-confidence factor is taking on India, while the Kiwis who have nothing to lose anymore here have fought back in style. We have missed this team in the last three games. Boult strikes two more times in his next two overs! The 19-year-old Shubman Gill is off in his international career not in the gretest ways. He becomes Boult's fourth victim of the day as he like Rohit gives the New Zealander a return catch. An over later, Boult removes Kedar Jadhav, who gets out for just one run.

India need a partnership here. Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar at the crease now.

India are 39 for 6, Overs - 15

In the 17th over, India lose their seventh over as Colin de Grandhomme dismisses Bhuvneshwar Kumar. After the first three fully dominant matches, who would have thought India at such a situation?

FYI, India's lowest total in the ODIs is 54 - vs SL in 2000. The next lowest is 63 - vs AUS, 1981.

India are 52 for 7, Overs - 18

9. New Zealands chase begins!

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to begin the proceedings for India, Martin Guptill and Colin Munro have walked out into the field to begin NZ's chase of 93 runs.

Bhuvi to Guptill, SIX! FOUR! FOUR! OUT!

And an over-charged up Guptill throws away his wicket. He starts with a bang, puts Bhuvi under pressure immediately with three boundaries to begin with but the Indian pacer has the last laugh. A length ball from Bhuvi, Guptill goes for an early shot but ends up with an edge that flies to backward point, where Pandya takes an easy catch.

New Zealand 14 for 1, Overs 1

10. 4th ODI: New Zealand win by 8 wickets

After the first three matches were one-sided in the favour of India, it were the hosts who thoroughly dominated the fourth game as they won the match by eight wickets. Trent Boult clinched his fifth five-wicket haul and led the bowling attack as they bundled out India for a poor total of 92. It was India's overall seventh-lowest ODI total and the lowest in New Zealand. In response to India's 92, the Blackcaps only lost two wickets as Ross Taylor and Henry Nicholls remained unbeaten and ensured the hosts won the game comfortably.
