Mahmudullah fired it into the blockhole but it was slightly down leg.

The ball kissed Kedar's pad and ran away towards the fine-leg fence. India won the match with a leg-bye off the last ball.

What a match! Full credit to Bangladesh. They fought right till the end and can be proud of their performance.

Mustafizur Rahman removes Bhuvneshwar Kumar off the first ball of the over.

Bhuvi walks back for 21 off 31.

Kuldeep Yadav is the new man at the crease.

India need 9 from 11 with 3 wickets in hand.

01:05 AM

Kedar had gotten injured in the first match of the 2018 IPL between CSK and MI. He returned to bat in the final over and smashed a six to take CSK home. Can he do something similar tonight?

01:03 AM

OUT!

Rubel Hossain removes Ravindra Jadeja.

Jaddu steps out and tries to drive through covers on the rise, but the ball takes a faint edge. The umpire says not out but keeper Mushfiqur Rahim asks for DRS immediately. He was right.

Jadeja walks back for 23 off 33, his 45-run partnership with Bhuvi comes to an end.

Kedar Jadhav has walked out to bat as the crowd applauds.

India need 11 from 16.

01:01 AM

Boundary!

Heartbreak for Rahman. He gives away just a single off the first five balls, but the last one is on Bhuvi's pads and is clipped away to the fine-leg fence.

India need 13 from 18.

IND - 210/5 after 47 overs.

12:55 AM

Mustafizur Rahman comes back into the attack. Can The Fizz do it for Bangladesh? He removed Dhoni in his last spell.

12:55 AM

SIX!

Bhuvi, you absolute beauty!

Rubel pitches it right up, Bhuvi stays in the crease and lofts it straight back for a maximum. What a shot! That has to be the best shot Bhuvi has played in his life! Brilliance under tremendous pressure.

Eight runs came from that over.

India need 18 from 24.

IND - 205/5 after 46 overs.

12:49 AM

Jadeja and Bhuvi manage to take 6 runs from Mahmudullah's 5th over.

India need 26 from 30.

IND - 197/5 after 45 overs.

12:45 AM

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza's spell comes to an end. The right-arm medium-pacer took a wicket for 35 runs from his 10 overs.

Four runs came in that over.

India need 32 from 36. The gap between runs needed and balls remaining is reducing with each passing over.

IND - 191/5 after 44 overs.

12:39 AM

Rubel Hossain gives just 1 run from his 8th over. The right-arm quick was the one who got smashed by DK in the Nidahas Trophy final. But tonight, Rubel has bowled really well. He has bowled two maidens, taken two wickets and conceded just 15 runs in his 8 overs.

India need 36 from 42.

IND - 187/5 after 43 overs.

12:34 AM

Nazmul Islam comes back to bowl his last over.

Boundary!

Islam tosses it up, Jadeja leans in and drives it straight back powerfully. The bowler got his hand to it but the ball still raced away.

Jadeja and Bhuvi are running hard between wickets. That is the need of the hour.

Eight runs came from that over.

India need 37 from 48.

IND - 186/5 after 42 overs.

12:24 AM

Three runs in that over from Mashrafe Mortaza.

India need 51 runs to win from 60 balls.

That's a lot of runs. Which batsman can get the bulk of them?

IND - 172/5 after 40 overs.

12:19 AM

Two runs come from Mustafizur's 8th over.

India have to try and get the odd boundary now.

IND - 169/5 after 39 overs.

12:14 AM

Kedar Jadhav is limping back to the pavilion. Rohit and Co have taken the right decision to bring him back. Bhuvneshwar Kumar joins Jadeja out in the middle. This is looking like a monumental task for India now. They need 56 from 72 with five wickets (including Kedar) in hand.

12:13 AM

Kedar Jadhav is in serious pain but he's battling on. Ravi Shastri, Rohit Sharma and Sanjay Bangar huddle up in the dressing room to discuss the situation. Rohit finally signals to Kedar to stay calm and keep batting. But the right-hander seems to have lost his bearings and is just swinging his bat without connecting with much.

Boundary!

Much-needed runs for India. Mortaza drifts on to Jadeja's pads from around the wicket, the ball hits the thigh guard and runs away to the fine-leg fence.

IND - 167/5 after 38 overs.

12:04 AM

OUT!

Aaaand he's out. Yes, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is out.

Mustafizur bowls a sharp delivery well outside off, Dhoni throws his bat at it and nicks it. This has been a poor, poor innings from the 37-year-old. This will surely raise questions about his place in India's 2019 World Cup team.

Dhoni walks back to the pavilion for 36 off 67. India in deep trouble. They need 63 runs to win from 83 balls. Ravindra Jadeja joins Kedar Jadhav at the crease.

12:01 AM

Kedar straps his pad on and takes guard. Good to see.

Boundary!

Islam bowls a low full-toss, Kedar sweeps it for four. Risky shot as it would've been plumb LBW had he missed it.

And just like that, Dhoni plays out a couple of dot balls. He's batting on 36 off 66.

IND - 160/4 after 36 overs.

11:57 PM

Kedar Jadhav is in trouble here. He seems to have pulled his hamstring after taking a single off the last ball of Mustafizur's over. It seemed innocuous at first but clearly isn't. Team India physio Patrick Farhart is out in the middle. Kedar has his pad off and is on the floor getting treatment. He had a hamstring injury earlier in the year that forced him to miss the IPL. Hope it's not too serious. India desperately need him to carry on right now.

11:52 PM

Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza brings Mustafizur Rahman back into the attack.

The left-arm quick bowls four dot balls to Dhoni first up. This is getting really frustrating now. MSD has to figure out a way to rotate strike. It must surely be building pressure on Kedar at the other end, too.

IND - 154/4 after 35 overs.

11:48 PM

Better from Dhoni, manages to rotate strike.

India get five singles in that Nazmul Islam over.

IND - 152/4 after 34 overs.

11:43 PM

SIX!

Super shot from Kedar Jadhav! He steps out to Mahmudullah and lofts it straight back for a maximum. Some pressure released.

IND - 147/4 after 33 overs.

11:41 PM

Kedar Jadhav has joined MS Dhoni out in the middle.

Dhoni plays out a maiden against Rubel Hossain. Not because of remarkable bowling, but because of dead bat defensive strokes.

India need runs 84 runs to win from 108 balls.

IND - 139/4 after 32 overs.

11:32 PM

Mahmudullah getting some sharp turn all of a sudden.

Dhoni got out to an off-spinner in the last match. He's looking much more cautious tonight.

OUT!

Mahmudullah trap Dinesh Karthik in front!

The ball was fired in and hit DK on his shoe. That was plumb.

Karthik walks back for 37 off 61 and India seem to be in trouble again.

IND - 137/4 after 30.4 overs.

11:23 PM

Boundary!

Mahmudullah drifts on to the pads, DK sweeps it deftly past short-fine for four. Surprisingly, that's Karthik's first boundary. And with that, the 50-run stand between these two is up.

IND 134/3 after 29 overs.

11:19 PM

It's looking much better for India all of a sudden. The singles are coming freely and the scoreboard is ticking nicely. India need these two to add at least another 50 runs for the result to be put beyond doubt.

IND - 129/3 after 28 overs.

11:08 PM

Mehidy Hasan comes back into the attack. He'd bowled the first over for Bangladesh.

What a shot from MS Dhoni! He steps out and absolutely bludgeons the ball straight back. That indeed raced to the fence like a tracer bullet.

IND - 112/3 after 25 overs.

11:04 PM

Shot!

This time Dhoni decided he has had enough.

Mustafizur Rahman pitches it at around good length but well outside off. Dhoni stands tall blasts the ball right through Mashrafe Mortaza at short-covers.

Dhoni is now batting on 12 off 28.

IND - 105/3 after 24 overs.

10:59 PM

A spree of dot balls after the six from DK.

Nazmul Islam has bowled well tonight. The left-arm spinner has hardly bowled any loose deliveries and kept things wicket-to-wicket.

IND - 99/3 after 23 overs.

10:51 PM

SIX!

Dinesh Karthik decides he has had enough.

Islam drops it short and DK pulls it for a maximum.

India could do with some runs at the moment.

IND - 97/3 after 21 overs.

10:47 PM

Bangladesh are building some serious pressure here. The runs have dried up completely.

Dhoni tends to take his time when he comes in to bat. He's unfazed while playing out umpteen dot balls.

But Dhoni and DK must look to rotate strike consistently. The required-rate is only increasing and if these two get their eyes in and perish without adding much to the scoreboard, India will be in deep trouble.

IND - 90/3 after 20 overs.

10:38 PM

Mahendra Singh Dhoni walks out to bat. The big man owes his team a big knock tonight. It's been a while since he has won a game for India with the bat.

IND - 85/3 after 18 overs.

10:32 PM

OUT!

Oh no! Bangladesh have got the big fish. Rohit Sharma walks back for 48 off 55.

The Indian captain pulls one from Rubel Hossain straight to his counterpart Mashrafe Mortaza at deep square-leg.

India are surely in trouble now.

IND - 83/3 after 16.4 overs.

10:19 PM

SIX!

Rubel bangs it in, Rohit hooks it for a maximum. There was a moment where it seemed like the ball might drop into fine-leg's hands, but it wasn't to be for Bangladesh.

Rohit and DK survive!

Rohit drove it straight back and set off, just like DK did from the other end. But both batsmen realised midway that the run isn't on. They went back and forth but managed to come back to their own ends on time. Phew!

Time for a drinks break.

IND - 79/2 after 15 overs.

10:15 PM

The Indians are content in dealing with singles at the moment. That's the right approach. India will remain the Asia Cup champs even if they make 223 in 50 overs.

Meanwhile, Mortaza manages to beat DK's bat with a delivery that cut away from a good length.

IND - 73/2 after 14 overs.

10:01 PM

Rubel Hossain comes on to start his spell.

The right-arm quick begins with just a single off his first over.

Rohit is batting on a-run-a-ball 36.

IND - 58/2 after 11 overs.

09:57 PM

What. A Shot.

No, the ball hasn't sailed outside the stadium. It was simply a classic punch off the backfoot from Rohit, with the ball racing past covers for four. This guy is a true delight to watch when in full flow.

Five runs came from that over. And that's the end of the first Power Play.

IND - 57/2 after 10 overs.

09:52 PM

Another tidy over from Islam, five runs from it. There's hardly any turn in the wicket, though.

IND - 52/2 after 9 overs.

09:49 PM

Dinesh Karthik joins Rohit at the crease. A massive opportunity for the seasoned campaigner to solidify his position in the middle-order.

A fine over from Mortaza comes to an end. A wicket and three runs from it.

IND - 48/2 after 8 overs.

09:45 PM

OUT!

Skipper Masgrafe Mortaza brings himself into the attack and strikes in his first over.

The right-arm medium-pacer angles the ball in towards Rayudu, but it pitches and straightens. Rayudu goes for an awkward push and the ball takes the outside edge. No problem for keeper Mushfiqur Rahim in pouching that one.

India in a spot of bother here.

IND - 46/2 after 7.3 overs.

09:42 PM

A quick over from Islam, just the two singles came from it.

The left-arm spinner is keeping it stump-to-stump.

IND - 45/1 after 7 overs.

09:40 PM

Ambati Rayudu has joined skipper Rohit Sharma out in the middle.

The match is moving along at a rollicking pace.

Rohit's been extremely patient while batting in the tournament. The target isn't much and he would want to be there till the end.

A couple of quick wickets here and India will be in trouble. Can't get complacent.

SIX!

And just like that, Rohit has hit another maximum.

Rahman drops it short and the right-hander pulls it away for a flat six.

IND - 43/1 after 6 overs.

09:33 PM

Nazmul Islam replaces Mehidy Hasan.

SIX!

The left-arm orthodox spinner drops it way short first up, Rohit rocks back and pulls it for a maximum. The Indian captain has played this shot successfully on many, many occasions in the tournament.

Boundary!

This time Islam bowls down the leg to Dhawan. The left-hander paddle-sweeps it for four.

OUT!

Bangladesh have struck against the run of play!

Dhawan gets greedy and tries to loft it over mid-off but the ball goes straight to the fielder. A soft dismissal. Dhawan must be kicking himself as he walks back to the pavilion for 15 off 14.

IND - 35/1 after 4.4 overs.

09:29 PM

Rohit gets another one on his pads, this time from Rahman. The stylish right-hander flicks it past mid-wicket for two. At ease!

Rahman comes back well again, gets one to jag back in and hit Rohit's pads. But the ball had pitched outside leg and the umpire says not-out.

Let's not forget, Rohit tends to struggle against left-arm seamers who come from over the wicket and bring the ball back in to right-handers. Remember Mohammad Amir?

Shot!

Dhawan, meanwhile, has found his groove quickly once again. The ball is pitched full and wide, Dhawan leans in and smashes it past covers for four. A superb on-the-rise stroke.

IND - 24/0 after 4 overs.

09:24 PM

Poor, poor bowling from Hasan. The offie sends a half-tracker down leg, Rohit accepts the gift gleefully and pulls it between short-fine and square-leg for four.

It's looking all too easy from Hasan's end at the moment.

IND - 17/0 after 3 overs.

09:21 PM

The Fizz - Mustafizur Rahman - takes the new ball at the other end.

The left-arm speedster comes from over the wicket and angles it in towards Dhawan's pads, the left-hander flicks it hard past square-leg and picks up a couple.

Fizz comes back well and wraps Dhawan on the pads with a sharp delivery. The Bangladeshis go up in appeal but the height on the ball saves Dhawan.

Just the two runs came from that over.

IND - 12/0 after 2 overs.

09:15 PM

The first ball is angled on the pads and Rohit dabs it towards square-leg for a single.

Boundary!

Shikhar Dhawan gets on strike, the first ball to him is short and wide. The left-hander leans back and pierces the gap between point and extra-cover for four.

Hasan is struggling to grip the ball. Bangladesh have reaped rich dividends in the tournament by using Hasan with the new ball.

Another boundary!

Hasan drifts on to Rohit's pads again, gets clipped for four past short-fine. That looked like a gentle push that would never race away to the fence. But it did. It had Rohit's sublime touch.

India are off to a super start.

IND - 10/0 after 1 over.

09:09 PM

Right, we're ready for the chase.

If someone had told India they'd be chasing 223 in the final, they would've taken it with open arms.

Rohit Sharma will take strike, Shikhar Dhawan is at the other end.

Off-spinner Mehidy Hasan will bowl the first over.

Here we go!

09:08 PM
08:25 PM

A sensational yorker from Jasprit Bumrah sees Rubel Hossain's stumps get rattled.

Bangladesh added 120 runs for the first wicket but just 122 more for the next nine. They must surely be bitterly disappointed.

But the job is only half done for India. It's a final and there are runs on the board. Rohit and Co cannot be complacent at this point.

Join us after a short break for the chase!

08:24 PM

BANGLADESH ALL-OUT FOR 222 IN 48.3 OVERS

08:22 PM

OUT!

Third run-out of the day and Sarkar has to walk back to the pavilion.

He tried to seal a second run but Rayudu's throw was too quick and Dhoni did the rest.

Soumya Sarkar perishes for 33 off 45.

08:20 PM

Mustafizur Rahman has come out to bat.

Boundary! Welcome runs for Bangladesh as Sarkar gets four runs. Rayudu tries valiantly to stop the ball at the ropes but can't. He hurts his finger in the process but it isn't serious.

8 runs came from that Bhuvi over.

BAN - 221/8 after 48 overs.

08:14 PM

Sarkar and Islam are swinging their bats hard at every other delivery. But the ball isn't going anywhere.

OUT!

And just like that, there's a major mix-up between the two batsmen and Islam is run-out.

Both the batsmen ended up at the same end and Manish Pandey ran to the stumps to complete a simple run-out.

BAN - 213/8 after 46.4 overs.

08:06 PM

Bhuvenshwar joins the attack from the other end.

He's not as economical as Bumrah and gives away 8 runs.

Bhuvi has struggled bowling in the death of late. A worrying sign for India as we head towards the 2019 World Cup.

BAN - 210/7 after 46 overs.

08:02 PM

Rohit brings Bumrah back into the attack.

The pacer keeps things straight and quick, concedes three runs in the over.

Soumya Sarkar and Nazmul Islam are at the crease for Bangladesh.

BAN - 202/7 after 45 overs.

07:53 PM

Kuldeep ends his spell with 3 wickets for 45 runs from 10 overs.

Bangladesh, meanwhile are imploding here. At the start, they were looking good for 320-330. But now, 250 seems like a stretch.

BAN - 196/7 after 43.

07:49 PM

SIX!

Mashrafe Mortaza goes big! Stays on one knee and slogs Kuldeep over mid-wicket for a maximum. Bangladesh's fourth six of the match.

OUT!

Oh no, what have you done Mashrafe?

The right-hander steps well out of the crease and goes for a wild slog. He was nowhere close! It was a brilliant googly. Dhoni gets one of the easiest stumpings of his career.

Kuldeep has his third!

07:47 PM

Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza is the new man at the crease for Bangladesh. They need to hit the accelerator now.

Just the two singles come from Chahal's 7th over.

BAN - 190/6 after 42 overs.

07:44 PM

A boundary from Liton Das' bat after a while. The right-hander steps out against Kuldeep and lofts it straight back for four. Fine shot.

OUT!

Kuldeep has removed Das!

The ball was tossed up and beat Das in flight. The batsman's back leg dragged out a bit, Dhoni collected the ball and rattled the stumps in a flash.

The third umpire took ages to make his decision. It was touch and go as Das did drag his foot back. But the umpire reckoned it wasn't in time.

Das walks back for 121 off 117. Take a bow! Could prove to be a match-winning knock in a big final.

10 runs and a wicket came from that over.

BAN - 188/6 after 41 overs.

07:38 PM

With ten overs more to play, what total will Bangladesh be targeting?

They need at least a hundred more, in our assessment, to put the formidable Indian batting under pressure.

07:37 PM

SIX!

Finally, Sarkar gets one away. He steps out to Kedar, something not many batsmen dare to do against the wily offie, and hits it over mid-wicket for a maximum.

10 runs came from that over.

BAN - 178/5 after 40 overs.

07:34 PM

Another tidy over from Bumrah. Rohit's brought on the right-arm quick in search of wickets. There seems to be one around the corner as the batsmen look edgy out in the middle.

Two runs came from that over.

BAN - 168/5 after 39 overs.

07:30 PM

Kedar bowls a near underarm delivery, Liton attempts a cut but the ball goes under his bat. Can't help but chuckle at such cricket.

Kedar has taken two wickets and given away 31 runs in his eight overs so far.

BAN - 166/5 after 38 overs.

07:27 PM

Bumrah brought back into the attack. Bowls a couple of good away-moving deliveries from around the wicket to beat left-handed Sarkar's bat.

Could've been the second maiden over of the innings but Bumrah drifted on to Sarkar's pads and got clipped for a couple.

BAN - 165/5 after 37 overs.

07:23 PM

Kedar continues bowling his spell. There's not much in his bowling, at least not much that can be spotted from the naked eye, but the batsmen clearly tend to struggle against him.

Sarkar survives!

The left-hander played the ball towards square-leg and set off but Das sent him back. The throw came in quickly but Dhoni failed to gather it and Sarkar sneaked back in. Perhaps, MSD shouldn't try to pad the ball on to the stump so often.

BAN - 163/5 after 36 overs.

07:17 PM

Liton Das' strike-rate has come down significantly over the last ten overs or so. He's batting on 107 from 100 balls at the moment.

Kuldeep concedes three runs from his eighth over as the batsmen are content dealing in singles.

BAN - 160/5 after 35 overs.

07:13 PM

The umpires are having a little chat with Kedar. Rohit is there, too.

The offie has taping on his bowling palm and the umpires seem to have a problem with it. But he's allowed to keep it on after some deliberation.

Soumya Sarkar has joined Liton Das at the crease.

Five runs came from that over.

BAN - 157/5 after 34 overs.

07:05 PM

OUT!

Mahmudullah goes for 4 off 16. He clearly was struggling and chose the wrong guy for a smash.

Kuldeep to Mahmuddullah, the batsman looks to slog-sweep, gets top-edge near deep mid-wicket. Bumrah runs to his right, slid across and takes an excellent catch with his body pointing towards the crowd.

Bangla fans go silent, Indians break into celebration.

Just 2 runs off the over.

BAN 152/5 - 33 overs

07:03 PM

Rohit brings pace back into the attack. Bhuvneshwar Kumar returns to have a bowl.

The hard-hitting Mahmudullah has joined Liton Das out in the middle.

Just the one run came from that over.

BAN - 150/4 after 32 overs.

06:53 PM

This has been a superb knock from the 23-year-old.

He started off with a bang but slowed down once wickets started falling from the other end.

His team needs him to keep going, though.

Anything under 300 will not be safe.

BAN - 145/4 after 29 overs.

06:50 PM

Boundary!

Yet another sweep by Liton, yet another boundary for him!

Century for Liton Das!

First ODI ton for the right-hander.

06:49 PM

Mohammad Mithun has joined Liton Das out in the middle for Bangladesh. Das is batting on 95 off 81.

Chahal continues to impress. He's tossing the ball up with generosity, tempting the batsmen to go for a big one.

OUT!

Jadeja, you beauty!

Liton drives it towards covers, Jaddu dives full length and cuts the ball. By then Mithun has run all the way to the other end. Jadeja throws it to Chahal and India have their fourth wicket.

BAN - 139/4 after 28 overs.

06:42 PM

OUT!

India have a big wicket!

Mushfiqur pulls one from Kedar straight to Bumrah at deep mid-wicket.

Kedar has his second wicket.

BAN - 137/3 after 26.5 overs.

06:40 PM

Chahal has found momentum here.

The leg-spinner follows up a wicket-maiden with just two runs from his next over.

BAN - 135/2 after 16 overs.

06:38 PM

Meanwhile, HERE'S a stat that will surely scare Indian fans.

06:38 PM

Boundary!

Poor struff from Kedar. He did well to give away just a single off the first five balls, but the last one was short and Mushfiqur Rahim cut it for four. The keeper-batsman is the man in form for Bangladesh. India need to get him early.

BAN - 133/2 after 25 overs.

06:32 PM

OUT!

Chahal does tremendously well to bowl four dot balls in a row to the left-handed Kayes.

The fifth ball strikes Kayes on his back pad as he leans forward for a defensive stroke.

Dhoni goes up in appeal and the umpire raises his finger.

Bangladesh take DRS and the review shows that the impact was 'umpire's call'.

BAN - 128/2 after 23.5 overs.

06:28 PM

Kedar Jadhav has 10 top-order wickets to his credit in ODI cricket, 9 middle-order wickets, and 1 lower-order scalp. Can he be classified as a part-time bowler?

Four runs came from the offie's second over.

BAN - 128/1 after 23 overs.

06:25 PM

Imrul Kayes is the new man at the crease. Rohit brings Chahal on to have a go at the left-hander.

Four runs came from that over, including a wide.

Meanwhile, Liton Das has moved on to 88 from 69.

BAN - 124/1 after 22 overs.

06:21 PM

In India's last match, Afghanistan's Mohammad Shahzad scored a blazing hundred. Today, it's Liton Das' turn. Both times, India seemed clueless while trying to stop the onslaught.

And just as we'd expected, part-time off-spinner Kedar Jadhav has come on.

OUT!

He's done it! Kedar has given India the breakthrough.

It's not the man India wanted, but it's a wicket nonetheless.

Mehidy Hasan walks back for 32 from 59. He tried to cut the ball hard for four, but it went straight to Rayudu at extra-cover. But Hasan has surely done his job here.

BAN - 120/1 after 20.5 overs.

06:16 PM

Boundary for Liton!

He stays low and sweeps Jadeja hard for four. There's no fielder in the deep behind square.

Another boundary for Liton!

The exact same shot, the exact same result.

Dhoni is having a chat with Rohit now, trying to share some ideas.

Perhaps, give Kedar Jadhav a go?

BAN - 116/0 after 20 overs.

06:13 PM

Kuldeep resumes after the break. He tries to vary the ball consistently but Bangladesh manage six runs in the over.

Where will the wicket come from for India?

BAN - 108/0 after 19 overs.

06:08 PM

Liton Das is in the zone!

Jadeja does well to bowl three consecutive dot balls. The next one is slightly short, Das leans back in a flash and cuts hard. The ball takes a thick outside edge and runs past short-third for four.

The 23-year-old moves on to 73 off 56.

Time for a drinks break.

BAN - 102/0 after 18 overs.

06:05 PM

Rare instance that a boundary is not conceded in an over. Kuldeep gives four away runs from his fourth.

This will be a severe test of Rohit Sharma, the captain. What can the 31-year-old do to bring India back into the game?

To start with, a string of dot balls are needed to build pressure.

BAN - 97/0 after 17 overs.

06:00 PM

Jadeja continues to bowl from the other end.

A loud appeal for leg-before but the umpire says no. Liton Das stepped well out and tried to flick it towards mid-wicket but got wrapped on the pads. The ball hit straight in line but the umpire, perhaps, reckoned that the batsmen was too far out.

Boundary!

Brilliant batting from Das, he stays low, rocks back and pulls it over mid-wicket for four. That's quality!

India are struggling to find answers here. This is not looking good.

BAN - 93/0 after 16 overs.

05:56 PM

Shot!

Mehidy Hasan gets in on the act. Kuldeep tosses it right up and outside off, Mehidy stays low and drives it through covers for four.

Sending the right-hander as an opener is a gamble that's surely paid off for Bangladesh.

Seven runs came from that over.

BAN - 86/0 after 15 overs.

05:47 PM

Fifty for Liton Das! He's gotten there in merely 33 balls.

Fine knock on a big stage from the right-hander. But he needs to keep going for his team.

Jadeja comes into the attack.

Drooped catch!

Liton survives a major scare. He went hard for a sweep, but the ball went straight up.

Chahal tried to get under it but made a meal of it. He went to catch it the Aussie way but the ball fell behind him. He hit his head as he fell down. Rohit, Jadeja and Dhoni don't look happy.

BAN - 74/0 after 12 overs.

05:41 PM

Kuldeep Yadav brought into the attack.

The chinaman bowler keeps things tidy and concedes just a single in his first over.

India need a wicket to make a comeback here. Bangladesh have got just the start they would've wanted.

BAN - 66/0 after 11 overs.

05:36 PM

Bhuvneshwar in to bowl his 4th

Liton Das defends on back foot, back to the bowler, DOT

Liton now clips away to square leg for a single

Next four balls go for dot, just single off the over.

BAn 65/0 - 10 overs

05:32 PM

Bumrah, who has given 23 runs already, into the attack

Mehidy Hasan on strike, two DOTS to begin

Now he drives slowly to third man for ONE

Bumrah to Liton Das, FOUR, to square third man

DOT

DOT again

BAN 64/0 - 9 overs

05:26 PM

Yuzvendra Chahal into his second over.

Chahal to Liton Das, DOT to begin

Loses his line, Liton takes advantage and sweeps over backward square leg for SIX

Four more runs

Liton ends the over with a SIX over long-on

16 runs off the over, massive one

BAN 58/0 - 8 overs

05:29 PM

Oh, it's just a case of changing ends for Bumrah. He's come back to bowl the seventh over.

Boundary!

Bumrah bowls five good balls, gives away just one run in them.

But Liton Das decides to press on the pedal once again. He steps out and pulls a slow-ish short ball for four. It was a commanding shot as it was hit past mid-wicket.

BAN - 42/0 after 7 overs.

05:21 PM

Spin introduced early by Rohit. Yuzvendra Chahal replaces Bumrah.

Tidy over from the leg-spinner, just three came from it.

India are clearly desperate to change the pace of the match at the moment.

BAN - 36/0 after 6 overs.

05:20 PM

Back-to-back boundaries! Bangladesh are off to a flying start here.

First, Das rocks back and pulls a pace-less bouncer from Bhuvi for four.

Then, the right-hander clips a poor ball towards fine-leg.

This wasn't expected from Bhuvi. He's wasting the new ball with some erratic bowling.

BAN - 33/0 after 5 overs.

05:16 PM

Boundary!

Das takes the attack to Bumrah on the first ball of the over. He steps out and pulls it past square-leg for four.

This is Bangladesh's highest opening partnership of the tournament.

Another boundary!

This time Hasan dispatches one to the fence. The ball was slightly short and Hasan punched it through covers for four.

Expensive over that, 12 runs came from it.

BAN - 25/0 after 4 overs.

05:11 PM

Bhuvi keep things tight just outside off stump.

The Bangladeshi openers are struggling to find rhythm at the moment.

Five runs came from that over.

BAN - 13/0 after 3 overs.

05:07 PM

Jasprit Bumrah bowls with the new ball at the other end.

Four!

Mehidy Hasan gives Bangladesh their first boundary, albeit a streaky one.

Bumrah gets the outside edge but the ball flies past first slip for four.

BAN - 8/0 after 2 overs.

05:01 PM

That's the end of the first over.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar concedes three runs in the first over.

Liton Das survives as Dinesh Karthik fails to hold on to a difficult chance at second slip.

BAN - 3/0 after 1 over.
