Since it marks World Photography Day on Monday, here's taking a look at 15 films with some amazing works by cinematographers
Any movie remains incomplete without some magic. The basic of cinema - lights, camera and action - remain the essential formula for any movie to become a major success. Today is the day to celebrate the camera, and what better day to remember the people who contribute to movies than today?
So, on World Photography Day, which takes place on Monday, we bring you 15 movies where the cinematography of these films bowled us over in the past few years. Did you ever think you know who created the magic sitting behind the camera?
Right from Dil Chahta Hai and Rang De Basanti to Baahubali, Padmaavat, Wake Up Sid, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dear Zindagi, these movies, among the many others, have managed to bowl us over with their cinematography. So here's remembering the movies and their cinematographers on World Photography Day.

1. Anil Mehta for Wake Up Sid
)
Renowned cinematographer Anil Mehta (active since 1994) was responsible for bringing Mumbai city in limelight beautifully in Wake Up Sid!
2. Rajeev Ravi for Gangs of Wasseypur
)
Rajeev Ravi, who began his career as a cinematographer with Chandni Bar, took us to the lanes of Wasseypur in Anurag Kashyap's Gangs Of Wasseypur.
3. Carlos Catalan for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
)
International cinematographer Carlos Catalan was roped in for Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. He was responsible to take us through the lanes of Spain and into the beauty of the place.
4. Pankaj Kumar for Haider
)
Pankaj Kumar, who is mostly known for his works in short films, was the cinematographer on Shahid Kapoor starrer Haider.
5. Binod Pradhan for Rang De Basanti
)
Binod Pradhan, who began his career as a cinematographer with Ghashiram Kotwal back in 1976, explored Delhi, Punjab and showed us parallel stories with same conviction through 2006 release Rang De Basanti.
6. K.K. Senthil Kumar for Baahubali

Known for his works in Telugu cinema, K.K. Senthil Kumar was responsible for presenting the larger-than-life Baahubali on camera.
7. V. Manikandan for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Known for his works in Tamil cinema, V. Manikandan made his Bollywood debut as cinematographer in 2003, and among all movies, he's also responsible for bringing the magic of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani alive through the lens.
8. Laxman Utekar for Dear Zindagi

Laxman Utekar, who helmed Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi, which released earlier this year, was also responsible for taking us through Alia Bhatt's journey and bringing her romances alive on screen with the magic of his camera.
9. Anil Mehta for Lagaan

Bringing the flavour of life in a village, under the British rule, on screen, was cinematographer Anil Mehta.
10. Binod Pradhan for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
)
Loved the way Farhan's journey was captured in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag? Along with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, you can also thank Binod Pradhan for camera work.
11. Satyajit Pande for Dangal
)
Satyajit Pande, under the name of Setu, took responsibility of portraying all kind of emotions in Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal on the camera with utmost finesse. Whether pride, stress, hope or focus, Satyajit gave out every emotion in the best way possible through his lens.
12. Ravi K Chandran for Dil Chahta Hai

Well-known cinematographer Ravi K Chandran brought the friendship of three buddies alive with his camera while shooting Dil Chahta Hai.
13. Sudeep Chatterjee for Bajirao Mastani
)
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani was more than 'Deewani Mastani'. The movie required justice to introduction of character, it needed to show their bond and Sudeep Chatterjee's camera did full justice to that.
14. Sudeep Chatterjee for Padmaavat
)
Sudeep Chatterjee was also responsible for showing us the wild side of Khilji on camera. His camera was the same lens which captured Deepika Padukone's much-spoken-about Jauhar scene.
15. Anil Mehta for Kal Ho Naa Ho
)
Kal Ho Naa Ho gave us the idea of perfect date, the perfect romance and friendship/family goals, and Anil Mehta's camera captured those moments for us to relive whenever we wish to.
