During the release of his international film Victoria & Abdul in 2017, which got him global recognition, there were reports of Ali Fazal signing up for a Hollywood film, a biopic in which he plays the lead role. This reportedly makes him the first Indian actor to do a biopic out of Hollywood. However, there was no news about whom the film is based on.
Now, we have learnt that the movie is set against the backdrop of the Iraq war of 2003 when the US led-coalition overthrew the Saddam Hussein government. A source says that film is based on one of the soldiers, an unsung hero of the war. The Fukrey actor will be essaying the soldier. “The film will go on floors this summer and will take over six months of shooting in parts to complete it. The makers are planning to film it in the US and certain European landscapes. Currently, the casting for the other actors is underway. Ali will begin prep for the film after he wraps up the final shoot of Milan Talkies,” adds the source.

Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor seem to be in a close contest of sorts on Instagram. There’s only a marginal difference between their respective follower counts. When we last checked, Alia led with 26.6 million, while Shraddha was close behind with 26.4 million. Incidentally, there’s not much difference between their posts either, with the Stree actress sharing 1,220 uploads and the Raazi star, 1,281. That’s not all. Newbies Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, too, are neck and neck. The Kedarnath and Simmba girl stayed ahead with 4.9 million followers while the Dhadak actress clocked 3.4 million followers. Interestingly, Sara had shared only 92 posts till the time of going to press, while Janhvi had uploaded 129.

Bipasha Basu and husband Karan Singh Grover often spend their special days away from the city, preferably by a beachside. This time around, however, she will celebrate her birthday, which is today in aamchi Mumbai. The actress tells us, “Generally, I plan my birthday three months in advance. But this year, I’m going to have a relaxed and simple one. It won’t be anything elaborate.” The actress is working with Karan in the film, Aadat. Speaking about it, she says, “Aadat excited me because I get to play a Scotland Yard detective. This is not just a whodunnit, but also an intense love story. Playing that with my husband, Karan, has been fun.”
