Trust Akshay Kumar to go a notch higher in everything that he does and this time, as he announced his digital debut on Tuesday, with the web series tentatively titled The End, he surpassed everyone's anticipation. Khilaadi Kumar, as he's fondly called by his fans, performed a daredevil stunt as he set himself on fire at the launch event in Mumbai. Much like others, looks like even his wife Twinkle Khanna had no clue about the stunt that he's going to perform at the packed event.
It was only after Akshay Kumar tweeted a few pictures of himself walking on stage all fired up, did Twinkle get to know about what he's been up to. Twinkle took to her Twitter page and replied to Akshay writing, "Crap! This is how I find out that you decided to set yourself on fire ! Come home and I am going to kill you-in case you do survive this! #GodHelpMe"
On reading Twinkle's warning, Akshay Kumar, who's clearly not afraid of performing dangerous stunts, ended up writing, "Now that’s something I’d actually be afraid of"

Akshay Kumar is the latest Bollywood actor to take the plunge into the digital space. The actor announced his digital debut at the launch event of the web series The End in Mumbai in a unique way. He not only set the stage, but also himself on fire, with a dhamaakedaar entry.

2. Akshay calls himself a 'stuntman' first!

Known as B-Town's very own Khilaadi, Akshay has the reputation of somebody who performs his own stunts in movies and generally doesn't use a body double for the same. At the event on Tuesday, Akshay Kumar was all fired up (literally!) for his digital debut. While talking to the mediapersons, he shared that he always considers himself to be a 'stuntman' first and then an actor.

3. Akshay's son Aarav behind his digital debut?

While interacting with the media, Akshay also shared that his son Aarav is his new teacher and that he inspired him to get into the digital world. Akshay said at the event, "If I were to make a small confession here, it was my son Aarav who suggested that I make my digital debut as that’s what the youth is hooked onto."

The team of the OTT platform and their PR and marketing divisions too toko utmost care that nobody gets to know what the event was all about, before the BIG reveal. Looks like even Twinkle Khanna didn't know about what hubby Akshay would be up to on Tuesday evening. So when Akshay shared a few pictures of himself in fire, a shocked Twinkle Khanna wrote, ""Crap! 5. Akshay Kumar on his digital debut with 'The End'

Speaking on the occasion of the launch of his web series The End (working title), which is supposed to be a multi-season web show, Akshay Kumar said in a statement, “I have always believed in bringing innovation to my work and throughout my career, have tried to tell unique stories, work with break-through talent and be part of disruptive and high quality story-telling. Together, Abundantia and I have created some of my most memorable roles in films like Baby, Airlift and Toilet-Ek Prem Katha and their passion towards their films and projects is incredible."
He added, "From the very concept of the show, I am working very closely with Vikram and his team as they create this compelling and highly intriguing story. I can’t wait to start rolling for this action adventure series that will be Amazon Original for global audiences. The digital world excited me and I am delighted to make my streaming debut with this show.
