Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh starrer 'De De Pyaar De' in its 2nd weekend fares better than the opening weekend collections of Arjun Kapoor's 'India's Most Wanted' and Vivek Oberoi's PM Narendra Modi
This weekend, the ticekt windows offered quite a few choices to the movie goers to pick from. While the new releases included Arjun Kapoor's India's Most Wanted and Vivek Oberoi's PM Narendra Modi biopic, Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh starrer De De Pyaar De too is still running successfully in theatres across the country. Moreover, Aladdin too has hit the theatres the past weekend.
While Aladdin remained the first choice of the cinegoers, when it came to the desi releases, looks like the audience picked Ajay Devgn's De De Pyaar De over Arjun Kapoor's India's Most Wanted and Vivek Oberoi's PM Narendra Modi. It's interesting to note that while India's Most Wanted and PM Narendra Modi are the latest releases, De De Pyaar De has already had a successful run at the box office in its first week.
Going strictly by the box office collections of these three films, De De Pyaar De in it's second weekend has easily trumped India's Most Wanted and PM Narendra Modi's opening weekend collections.
Here's how the three movies fared at the box office this past weekend:
1. 'India's Most Wanted' Box Office: Arjun Kapoor's film mints Rs 8.66 crore in opening weekend
Arjun Kapoor's latest release India's Most Wanted, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, has managed to rake in a total of Rs 8.66 crore in its opening weekend. The film which opened to Rs 2.10 crore on Friday, went on to rake in Rs 3.03 crore on Saturday. The movie failed to touch even the Rs 10 crore mark in the first three days as it managed to collect Rs 3.53 crore on Sunday, taking the opening weekend total to Rs 8.66 crore.
Trade analyst Taran adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the box office figures. He wrote, "#IndiasMostWanted witnessed growth over the weekend, but not substantial enough... The 3-day total, thus, remains below the mark... Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3.03 cr, Sun 3.53 cr. Total: ₹ 8.66 cr. India biz. #IMW"

2. 'PM Narendra Modi' Box Office: Vivek Oberoi's film does better than Arjun Kapoor's India's Most Wanted, mints Rs 11.76 crore
Surprisingly, Vivek Oberoi's recent offering PM Narendra Modi biopic seems to have benefitted from the 17th Indian General Election results and PM Modi's fervour that has taken the nation by storm. The movie opened to a total of Rs 2.88 crore on Friday, recorded notable growth over the next two days. On Saturday the film raked in Rs 3.76 crore at the box office and went on to mint Rs 5.12 crore on Sunday. PM Narendra Modi has comfortably crossed the Rs 10 crore mark in the first three days of its release. The openeing weekend collections of the film stand at Rs 11.76 crore, which is more than what Arjun Kapoor's India's Most Wanted.
Taran Adarsh shared the box office numbers on his Twitter account and wrote," #PMNarendraModi showed positive trending across the weekend... Biz on Day 3 gave the much-required push... Weekdays crucial, since it needs to maintain the momentum for a satisfactory total... Fri 2.88 cr, Sat 3.76 cr, Sun 5.12 cr. Total: ₹ 11.76 cr. India biz."

3. 'De De Pyaar De' Box Office: Ajay Devgn starrer BEATS India's Most Wanted, PM Narendra Modi, mints Rs 14.04 crore in 2nd weekend
While the new releases India's Most Wanted and PM Narendra Modi didn't record mind blowing collections in their opening weekend, Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh starrer De De Pyaar De managed to rake in more moolah at the box office in its second weekend, than the other two films could mint in their opening weekend.
De De Pyaar De collected Rs 3.58 crore on its second Friday. The collections increased on the second Saturday and the film raked in Rs 4.78 crore. On Sunday, the film collected a total of Rs 5.68 crore, taking the second weekend collections to Rs 14.04 crore, which is more than India's Most Wanted and PM Narendra Modi biopic's first weekend collections. The overall collections of De De Pyaar De stand at Rs 75.09 crore.
Though, the movie has crossed the Rs 75 crore mark at the box office, it's unlikely that it'll be able to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark at the box office because Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat will hit the theatres next week.
Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#DeDePyaarDe crosses ₹ 75 cr... Does pretty well in Weekend 2... Enjoys steady run at metros and Tier-2 cities... Not strong in mass circuits... [Week 2] Fri 3.58 cr, Sat 4.78 cr, Sun 5.68 cr. Total: ₹ 75.09 cr. India biz. #DDPD"
