Actress Vidya Balan has been very vocal about the fact that she has been trolled, body-shamed, fat-shamed uncountable times. However, over the years, she did finally accept the way she was and love her body the way it is rather than give in to social stereotypes. During an exclusive chat with DNA, when Vidya was once asked if she has ever been told to look and dress in a certain way, she had said, "Of course. I think everyone knows that about me in my career, everyone's had an opinion on what I should wear, what I should weigh, and all of that, and it's damn annoying. And it used to bother me before, but it stopped bothering me. And when it stopped bothering me, people stopped talking. But I have to say my mother's not given up on saying wear some jewellery."

Bollywood star Ileana D'Cruz has gone on record to state that she suffered from body dysmorphic disorder, which led to depression. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ileana had opened up on her struggles with body-shaming. She said, "I went through body-shaming right from the time I was 12. I had just hit puberty and growing up. You are hit with these weird comments. And people are passing comments about your body and saying, ‘Oh My God, why is your butt so big?’ And I am like, ‘What do you mean?’ You think you are fine and then suddenly you have random people saying things about you and you start to believe what they are saying." "So I think it’s a deeply ingrained scare because you are carrying it for so many years. It takes a lot of inner strength to tell yourself that what they are saying doesn’t matter. What your feel about yourself is most important. And it’s something I tell myself every single day" she added.

They constantly keep telling you that you are too fat, too thin, your teeth are not fine, you can’t speak English really well, and you are too short, etc. Bullies will be bullies and I think body-shaming is something that people all over the world are not condoning and condemning because it’s not cool.
