'Unstable' Libya an 'entry point' for ISIS- reports

The Islamic State is said to be using Libya, which is gradually becoming the most unstable country in the region, as an 'entry point' into Europe.

Fox News quoted intelligence sources on the ground in Africa as saying that at least 30 ISIS fighters who left from the country have been picked up by the Italians in recent weeks.

US President Barack Obama had earlier this week authorized up to 450 additional US troops to deploy to Iraq to help the local security forces in the fight against ISIS there.

With American foreign policy focusing on the ISIS operations in Syria and Iraq, many in the region and in American intelligence have expressed concern over Libya giving the ISIS its best opportunity for entry to the West.

Ron Johnson, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, lashed out at the administration and said that it continues to refute reality. He added that the administration fails to adequately convey to the people the severity of the security situation throughout the Middle East and the resulting threats which America faces.
