Two Indians killed as crane collapses in Sharjah

DUBAI: Two Indians were killed when a crane collapsed at a building site in Sharjah emirate of the UAE.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when Nagaraju (30), a crane operator from Andhra Pradesh was trying to assemble an unbalanced tower crane on the 25th floor when it collapsed and fell on the other worker, police said, adding both died on the spot.

The identification of the worker who was crashed under the crane was yet to be revealed.

According to Lieutenant Ahmed Rashid, Deputy Officer at Al Buhairah Police Station, the accident apparently occurred due to excessive loading.
