MUMBAI: A sessions court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli's wife Asha, brother Vijay and an associate in a criminal breach of trust case.

The court granted them anticipatory bail stating that if arrested they could be released on payment of Rs 50,000.

Asha, Vijay and Sunil Kelkar - the associate - along with Gawli, are accused of misappropriating money meant for members of Akhil Bharatiya Kamgar Sena (ABKS).

The court also said that if there are any aggrieved persons who have not received their money from the ABKS they could report this to the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai police.

After verifying the identity of the employee the police could call Gawli, who would pay the remaining dues to the concerned person in their presence.

Gawli was arrested in the case on December 2, but was released on bail next day.

The police had said that six ABKS members had approached them stating they had not been paid their dues.

The complainants said about 470 people had approached the Bombay High Court to recover their dues from a company and had authorised the Gawli-led ABKS to collect it on their behalf.

However, Gawli, with the help of his brother and wife, had misappropriated the money, they alleged.
