PM, Advani, Sonia pay floral tributes to Nehru in Parliament

A booklet containing the profile of Nehru was presented to the dignitaries after they paid tributes to the late Congress leader.

Prime minister Manmohan Singh, leader of the opposition LK Advani and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi today paid floral tributes at the portrait of India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru in the Parliament House on his birth anniversary.

Among others who joined the country were top political leadership were power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, new and renewable energy minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, petroleum minister Murli Deora, parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and minister of State for women and child sevelopment Krishna Tirath.

Rajya Sabha secretary general VK Agnihotri and other officers from Parliament too were present on the occasion.

A booklet containing the profile of Nehru, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries after they paid tributes to the late Congress leader.
