Goa has been put on high alert fearing that terror outfits may strike during the ensuing festive season, a senior official stated today.
 
Goa chief secretary Sanjiv Srivastava told reporters here that night patrolling has been intensified and special protection has been provided at vital installations.
 
The union home ministry alerted Goa government as also many other states in the country about possible terror attacks based on intelligence inputs which indicated that Lashkar-e-Taiba could strike during the forthcoming festive season.
 
Srivastava said that statewide terror alert has been sounded and necessary steps have been taken to tackle the terror threat.
