Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Wednesday cancelled the appointment of AAP leader Swati Maliwal as the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
Maliwal, who is an RTI activist and also the youngest member of India Against Corruption, took charge as the DCW chief two days ago, succeeding Barkha Shukla. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal drew sharp criticism from the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for appointing Maliwal, who is the wife of AAP leader Naveen Jaihind, as the DCW chief.
Swati Maliwal has now reacted to the controversy. She said that
DCW was a kitty party aayog and thats what I am working to finish. I will work even if I am not on this position: DCW Chief Swati Maliwal
